Chicwish coat & shorts, Romwe shirt, Office boots.

Okay, I’ve a bit of a dilema. I painted about 10 coats of that Models Own nail polish in ‘Ibiza Mix’ which is really fun and basically just glitter but now I can’t get it off : ( . When I try a cotton bud and nail polish remover, the cotton wool just gets caught in the glitter and gets all furry and it’s a nightmare to get off, there’s so many layers that it’s rock hard! (I’m very silly though, I never used a base coat, or even an over coat so it’s entirely my fault) But I just need some tips of the easiest way to remove it, cause even though I think the nail varnish itself is awesome, I need to get it off!

Any help would be much appreciated : D

oh no, what a pickle…try soaking your nails in nail polish remover for a bit…get a tiny bowl and put enough remover in so your nails can be submerged…let them sit in the bowl for several minutes and the try again to take it off with cotton balls…that’s usually what i do when i put on glitter polish, it usually loosens up the paint..just hope you don’t have any cuts and hangnails on your fingers cause then they’ll burn. Hopefully that helps. If not, maybe try going to a salon(?) they may be able to do a better job.

You can soak a cotton ball in nail polish remover, place it on your nail, and then cover your entire finger with aluminum foil and let it sit for about five minutes or so. That way the remover can soak into all the nail polish. I think that will help you. :)

Also I really love all the layering in this outfit. It definitely is an art to layer bulky things without making yourself look bulky, and I think you’ve mastered it perfectly. :)

    Love all of your rings!

My solution for removing all nail polish (even the thick layers of glitter!) is to completely soak a cotton ball in nail polish remover. Tear that 1 cotton ball into 10 pieces and lay those pieces on your nails for about 1 minute. Press firmly on the cotton piece and pull away from the cuticle. It should do the trick! And this method you don’t have to soak your fingers, just the nail.

Hahaha I did the same too. Bought the same nail polish and you are right, it cant get off, no matter how much nail polish remover you try!! :P I peeled it off, took about 2 or 3 days, but now there is just tiny glitter spots left. Now I am just wandering when I am gonna use it again ;)

I do that all the time! I normally just take it off with a nail file! Like file the actual flat bit f your nail and it should come off! :)

  • http://www.curlsandbags.com nathalie

Get the cotton really wet with remover and hold it onto your nail for a few seconds and then push hard while you move over it, normally a lot of them should get loose and come off… good luck! It’s never easy to remove glitters :D

You should try the bourjois magic nail polish remover (the one in the little pink pot that you dip your nails into and twist around to remove your polish), its much more effective at removing glitter nail varnishes than the standard remover you use with a cotton pad :)

Your boots are so perfect. Nice coat too. Ready for autumn ! C

  • Julia

I had that problem too. I used a nail file (hope that’s the right word for the thing) and rubbed it with the rough side horizontal over each nail. and also used the edges of the nail file to “scratch” the glitter-balls off.
of course in a very careful way in order not to destroy the nails :)

hope you understand what I mean,
    xo

    I really like this!!

Nail varnish loosens nail varnish. I put on a coat of nail varnish and vipe it off. You could give that a shot. Works with my glittery Barry M Nail paint and I cant get that off any other way. x

I use glitter nail varnish all the time! So easy to get off, soak Cotton ball in nail varnish remover, put on your nail and wrap your nail in tin foil and leave for like three to four mins! Then twist it off!! And it comes off with no nail varnish or scratches left on your nail! Gooood luck!

The best tip for removing glitter polish came from my friend who is a manicurist. She goes to the craft store and gets some felt and cuts it into squares and then she uses an acetone polish remover, lets the soaked felt square sit on the nail for a good ten seconds then removes the polish. The felt hold on better to the glitter in the polish and won’t go to pieces when you’re trying to get it off. Hope that helps :)

I love your bottle green shirt so much. Glitter varnish is a nightmare, I usually eat it -not litterally- (peel it with my teeth) when I’m bored enough !

Put some remover in a small bowl and use an eyeshadow brush to paint the polish off with the remover! =) make sure your polish remover has acetone!

I never use a base coat, Im to lazy. But when I used the Barry M glitter I realised I had to drench the wool in nail varnish remover and that worked.

    Gorgeous ring.

You should use the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover, I can guarantee it will take your nail polish off in seconds. I get this problem a lot with glitter nailvarnish. May I also recommend the topshop glitter nail polishes? In particular the ones from the new Louise Grey collection, very durable and very pretty! Hope you get your nail polish off!
